I recently spent an entire week in Atlanta for the first time in eight years, and I had the best time ever. It was a week filled with play, purpose, love, joy, and family. I was able to celebrate my friend Mable’s birthday, enjoy late-night porch moments, practice Kung Fu in the park, take moon baths, spend time in parts of the city I had never visited, and meet friends’ kids I had never met before. It was perfect! I wrote extensively about this in my last Substack, which was one of my more vulnerable posts to date.
With all the time spent in Atlanta, I came back to LA fully refreshed and ready to work. I returned with fresh sequences and playlists after a week of not teaching (for the first time in five years), which was exactly what I needed. The first week back was all about the Root Chakra, and this week has been all about the Heart.
The Muladara (Root) is all about home, safe spaces, and cultivating from a strong foundation. This was something I had been in search of for as long as I could remember…until I built it. The Anahata (Heart) has been my focus over the last year as I explore different healing modalities, because I know I can’t take the baggage I’ve been carrying with me to where I’m going next.
I needed to be lighter so I could fly!
Deciding to go to Atlanta was a last-minute decision, but it was the right time. It was divinely appointed, so I followed the thread. The place I’d called home during the formative years of my life, and which I am now returning to during this quantum leap I am currently experiencing, was a dream come true. I am stepping up to the plate as a fuller, clearer, and more grounded version of myself - THANK GOD!
The stack today is inspired by a conversation I had with my friend, Rawan, after my yoga class at White Heat here in LA. I had an epiphany mid-conversation, like, ‘oh shit, I used to run from/avoid Atlanta when in actuality, Atlanta raised me into the person I am today, and was the best thing to come out of my mother’s marriage, in my opinion.’ It opened my eyes to an entirely different way of thinking, living, exploring, and more.
Atlanta breathed life into me in the most expansive way.

Atlanta, you have heart, soul, magic, pain, beauty, and truth. You help me to remember my southern roots when I walk into any space thinking I am alone…I am never alone. You expanded my world, and I am forever grateful for the time we spent together. You saw me through the fire, the mud, the sun, and you never gave up on me, even when I left you…angry, scared, frustrated, and alone.
They say, home is where the heart is, and I’d always dreamt of having a place I could come home to without worry, doubt, or fear. Home is anywhere I am because I am my own home, my place of peace, my own safe space. This realization came after searching and searching when everywhere I turned, there I was - how about that?!
There are so many delicious things on the horizon, and I look forward to sharing them when the time is right. But for now, I am remaining open to receiving and responding to all assignments that come my way, as God sends them.
Thank you to my new friends, old friends, family, and confidants who sheltered, fed, and prayed for me constantly. I am thriving out in the world because of you. I am thriving because I didn’t quit on myself. My mom left angels on earth to look after me, truly, and I love her endlessly in this timeline and the next. May her blessed journey continue to be just that — a blessed one. I love you, Mama. I love you, Atlanta!
Until next time, stay brave in your pursuit of joy!
With love,
Your favorite Ram
