I will start by saying hello. It's been a while since I wrote a long post, but I trust you have been enjoying my notes. They have been short, sweet, funny, and pensive, reflecting exactly where I have been the last month. So much has happened in the previous month that I am not sure where I should begin…I surmise at the beginning.
My apartment flooded on August 5th, and I had to discard most of my personal belongings, including furniture, books, and business supplies. It was a mess!
Then, on August 22nd, I injured my right heel playing tennis when I don’t even play fucking tennis. It popped so loud I thought I broke SOMETHING, but it ended up being a severely bruised heel spur that forced me to slow down, wear a boot, and get crutches. What the helly!!! I was beside myself for several reasons, but the major one being, my ability to walk with ease and flow is literally how I make my money. If you are new here, I teach yoga and run a boutique marketing agency, where I support my clients in capturing content at their events, among other services. I needed to be able to walk!
I had my client's largest event coming up in Las Vegas, and here I was only operating on one foot - again, what the helly! I felt broken, and I realized I had let myself down simply because I was having fun, playing a sport I enjoy on a Friday night—silly me, a girl who loves to live her life.
Anyway, I was talking to my dear soul sister, Angel, about it all and telling her how I felt and how I had this trip coming up. She offered to come to Vegas with me and help me out since she knew my body wasn’t up to its usual standard of operation, AND she could tell my spirit was meek. It was! She came with me, and you know what we did? We turned Lemons into the most delicious batch of lemonade the internet has ever seen - it healed! I rented a motorized scooter at the hotel where we stayed in Vegas to make getting around easier. I was only going to have it for one day, because it was like renting a car - $70 a day, but I kept it the entire five days because it made my life easier.
If everything costs, we might as well pay for peace and the comfort of ease.
Angel and I had a blast with this, and dare I say, it will go down in history as one of my favorite experiences in Las Vegas. Not only was I there with my soulmate sister, but I also got to practice receiving help and asking for it when I needed it most.
Lastly, I moved out of my apartment, where I’d called this building home for the last twelve years. I will write a separate note on this later, as it deserves its own space, but I will say that I am grateful for the growth. The year I turned thirty, I moved into 11135, and here I am, forty-two, moving out and up because, as God is my witness, this move will (it already has) prepare me for the life I am meant to live. It will offer me the peace of stillness, observation, reflection, and so much more.
Friends, I am eager to bring you along on this new ride and see what God has in store for us. Until then, I pray for a spirit of ease for our community, both locally and globally, and I pray that you will see life as a beautiful blessing and cherish your own existence as a result.
Big love to you, sweet friend!
Until next time, Stay BRAVE in your pursuit of JOY!
Love,
Your Favorite Ram
P.S. If you have read this far, then I am going to let you in on a little secret: I have chosen to abstain from sex for at least a year. More on that later for my subscribers, Hehe!
